Flooring is usually where a kitchen project starts for us, but it rarely stays just flooring. Cabinets need to come out before we can lay tile or LVP properly, countertops get swapped while the room is already torn up, and homeowners realize it's the right time to handle both at once. Here's how we walk clients through it.
Step 1: The In-Home Estimate
We come to your house in Flint, Tyler, or the surrounding area with samples - flooring, and cabinet/countertop options if that's part of the scope. We measure the room, talk through what's actually structural versus cosmetic, and leave you with a written quote before we go. No pressure to sign that day.
Step 2: Sequencing the Work
- Demo - old flooring, cabinets, and countertops removed and hauled off
- Rough work - any subfloor leveling, plumbing, or electrical adjustments
- Cabinets & countertops set - see our cabinets & countertops work
- Flooring installed last, once heavy cabinet work is done
- Final trim, caulking, and a full walkthrough with you before we call it finished
Step 3: Materials and Financing
Most kitchen remodels around Tyler mix at least two materials - tile or luxury vinyl plank underfoot, plus cabinet and countertop selections.
Step 4: The Walkthrough
Before we consider a kitchen finished, we walk it with you - checking seams, transitions, cabinet alignment, and cleanup. If anything needs a second look, we schedule the fix before final payment, not after. Read more about how we work on our about us page, or see what other homeowners have said on our reviews page.
